A Little Rose History<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Roses have captivated human civilization for over 5,000 years, with their origins tracing back to ancient Asia, particularly China and the Middle East. The earliest cultivated roses appeared in gardens of the Chinese emperors around 2,700 B.C., while in Mesopotamia and Persia, roses were revered for their beauty and often featured in art, poetry, and royal gardens. Ancient Greeks and Romans adopted roses into their culture, associating them with Aphrodite and Venus\u2014the goddesses of love\u2014and using them in celebrations, medicine, and perfumery.<\/p>

By the 18th century, rose cultivation spread across Europe, where hybridization flourished, leading to the thousands of varieties we see today. The introduction of repeat-blooming Chinese roses to Europe sparked a gardening revolution, giving rise to the modern hybrid tea rose. Today, roses symbolize love, beauty, and admiration across cultures and remain the world\u2019s most popular flower\u2014whether in elegant bouquets, heirloom gardens, or historical displays of devotion.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Roses are not just beautiful plants that I enjoy taking care of. My rose garden is my plant family. And although rose plants are high maintenance; for me it\u2019s like therapy, and not work. Currently, I have 110 rose plants (105 bushes and 5 trees), 107 different varieties, and they are all either Hybrid Teas, Grandifloras or Floribundas. In addition to growing roses for over 25 years, I am a student of roses, and would like to share what I have learn.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
